Facts And Causes About Aging Signs

Aging signs are one of those appearance issues that we all want to get rid of. We can't help but remember what our skin used to look like when we were younger. It was soft and smooth to the touch and simply radiant. As we get older though, this perfection is replaced with flaws that include lines and wrinkles. It's almost as if our skin wants the world to known our age. The environment we live in can have a major impact on our skin. If you live in an area where the sun is very intense, and many people are, these rays can rapidly add years onto how old you really appear. We all need sunlight though in order to survive.
Expert Author William T. GudinoThe two specific types of aging skin are intrinsic and extrinsic aging. These are two terms that you might only hear while speaking to your dermatologist. Intrinsic refers to the natural process of aging we all go through as we get older. For most people, this process gets underway in their mid to late 20's. This is still a very young age, and believe it or not, your skin will progress towards looking older at that early stage of your life. It will take 10, 20, even 30 years before it really becomes a problem that confronts you in the mirror. But it's the reason that people want to gain the upper hand on aging. Extrinsic on the other hand refers to any external factors that cause you to appear older. This can include excessive sun exposure and smoking.
Aging has been a big problem since the hands of time began turning. If you think about it, once you're born into this world, the clock starts running and you continue to age with each passing year. The visible signs however don't begin appearing until decades later for most people. If you're naturally aging, it will be a steady and consistent process. But if outside factors are causing you to age faster, you can be very young, but with a much older appearance. People are spending an increasingly longer time in the sun. There are great numbers of people who are also smoking. These two factors are causing many of the more than seven billion people worldwide to look older when it should actually be the other way around.
Aging isn't a problem that can be fixed or resolved. There are certain actions that can be taken in order to minimize the signs and seemingly slow down the process. Natural aging can't be stopped though and your skin will continue to change with each passing year. There is nothing we can do to halt the process. External factors however are something that we can control. If you spend a lot of time in the sun, regardless of whether you're trying to or not, you'll want to apply a high SPF sunscreen to your skin that will be exposed to the sun's harmful rays. It's also a good not to get an excessive amount of sun exposure. If you're a smoker, then it's time to kick the habit.
