5 Tips to Lose Weight Safely

By Nathan Perera
If you have spent some time online, you probably have seen those advertisements which promote rapid weight loss in extremely short periods of time. Even though these products may help you to lose weight, they might be not safe and often does come with side effects.
1. Slow but steady
A safe weight reduction program should help you to lose weight in a slow but steady phase. The safest weight reduction programs I have seen help people to lose about 2 pounds each week. Programs which guarantee a loss of more than 2 pounds per week are not usually the most efficient.
2. Fat loss vs. Weight loss
Most people think weight loss is equal to fat loss. Unfortunately, it is not. Since above 60% our bodies are made of water, it is not safe to reduce the water weight. Instead, we should be focused on burning the fat to reduce body weight.
3. Metabolism
The key difference between an unsafe and a safe weight loss program is its approach towards metabolism. When you to it safely you will increase your body's metabolism and therefore the body will be forced to burn fat. An unsafe program will lower the metabolism and will force the body to lose water weight.
4. No External supplements
A safe program should not require you to take external or artificial supplements to lose weight. Many of the supplements promoted through the internet nowadays do not give permanent results. Therefore a good program should be able to give optimal results without any supplements.
5. A balanced diet
A balanced diet is crucial for your health and for peak performance. Safe weight management systems often suggest you to have a balanced diet with the right amount of carbohydrates, fats and proteins.
